The POTOMAC documentary presents a complex problem in an easily understood and concise manner that will be relevant to a widely varied audience. As a former public works director and city manager of a city on the Mississipi River, and responsible for water and wastewater treatment, it was difficult to inform and convince citizens and governing bodies that pollution problems and pollution control directly affected their everyday lives. This film is an excellent public information tool and a call for action that could be applied to any river in the country. A well informed public is essential for both individual actions to improve environmental quality and to secure funding for the massive job of replacing our aging water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
